MTFP's "Love Concert"
Hello dear friends,
How are you? The Music Theater Foundation n together with St. Scholastica' s College are mounting a fund raising concert for Pamela Pascua, 16 yrs.old, soprano from Bacolod whose whole leg was amputated the other day due to cancer of the muscle. And also, to our dear and
”kulit” Alexis Edralin who was diagnosed to have an acute leukemia.
Both are very young and their dream is to live longer to sing for God and to others. They both believed that GOD
will heal them through our prayers and support. Both will undergo chemotherapy, and they will need financial support with your help by joining the Love Concert at St.
Cecilia’s Hall, St. Scholastica' s College on November 15, 3 & 7Pm. The venue was given free thru the generosity of Sister Angelica, Some artists expressed their willingness to join with no fee. If you are
interested, please reply to this email, just choose the time you’re available, the 2:00pm show or the 7:00pm
show.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
To give you a brief history on Pamela, she is a freshman student in Music at St. Scholastica, her cancer was
discovered when she was in first year hi-school, it was only a tiny “bukol” on her right leg which she didn’t mind telling her mom. years passed, her mom
was surprsed to see a big bukol and rushed her to the hospital in Bacolod.
for a check up, the hump was diagnosed as rhabdomayosarcoma, a rare case cancer of the muscle, she was operated, then 6 months after the hump became bigger, another operation was performed after her first concert in Bacolod at 15yrs old.
I only heard about her thru Desi Villegas who kept on telling me about her bravery in accepting her sickness,
for being so positive, for expressing to her mom not to be scared by saying "i will lose only a leg but i will
still have my voice to sing for God, and others'.
And so, 2 weeks ago, we visited her together with my daughter Justine and Desi, I found out that’s she is the best friend of my niece Kria mae.
While we were chatting, she showed me her leg and the hump was like a camels hump...oh my gosh! How can
she be positive about everything? That was the time when my heart bled with pity and said without thinking of the
consequences, “I will mount a concert for you to raise funds for your leg and chemotherapy”. After saying that,
they showed us her taped concert and whoooow, what a lovely gift of voice.
After listening to her recorded cd, Tita Fides, the one and only Philippine Opera diva in her time was so amazed by the cleanliness of her High notes at age 16.
When I told her about my plans of mounting a concert
for Pam, she said yes with love and without hesitation to
help organize.
P am is looking forward to this event for she wanted to be a part of the concert, if she’s strong and well
enough, she will definitely sing.
On the other hand, Alexis was my student in Grade 5 when I was teaching at St. Scholastica, Manila. She was a soooo makulit pupil na nakakatuwa at nakakainis at times sa super kakulitan. When I heard about her leukemia, I didnt believe at first, I said it was her lola who have
cancer not her. I called Cheri Bong to confirm. Oh my gosh again! true enough....ho w my heart melted!!
Why am I doing this? because I was so blessed I did not have to undergo chemother aphy nor radiation four years
ago!
with your help...we will make this love radiate thru you in reaching out to others. thank you very much! God
bless!
love and cheers,
